What is drone data processing?

Raw drone imagery is only the starting point. Data processing is where hundreds of overlapping photographs and dense point clouds are turned into the measurable, structured outputs an engineering or GIS team actually works from — orthophotos, terrain models, contours, 3D models and CAD layers.

2D & 3D Feature Extraction

Detailed 2D and 3D feature extraction is carried out from aerial imagery and dense point clouds — surface-feature extraction, spot-elevation marking, contour generation, and CAD drawing overlay and matching. The result is accurate planimetric data engineering teams can design against.

Typical outputs: orthophoto, high-resolution base map, multiple GIS layers, cadastral data integration, 3D feature extraction, volumetric calculation, KMZ / KML / SHP / DWG files, spot levels and cross sections.

Contour Mapping

A contour line connects points of equal elevation, forming a smooth curve along a single height value. Mapped across a site, contours describe the shape of the terrain in a way that drainage, grading and civil-design workflows depend on.

DEM & DTM

A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a digital representation of land-surface elevation relative to a reference datum. A Digital Terrain Model (DTM) refines this to the bare-earth surface, with vegetation and structures removed — the basis for accurate slope, drainage and earthwork analysis.

RectifiedOrthorectification

Orthorectification

Orthorectification removes the distortion caused by camera tilt, lens geometry and terrain relief from aerial imagery, producing a corrected image with uniform, map-accurate scale. Alongside UAV data acquisition, it is the step that makes drone photography reliable for general mapping and measurement.
